Why $3.
Why nothing else.

$3 is what An costs to run, plus enough margin to keep us building. It’s not a number we picked from a price-anchoring table, and there’s no investor leaning on the dial.

There’s no higher tier with extra features behind it, because we don’t want to make the cheaper version worse on purpose. There’s no Team plan because An is for one person — that’s the whole product. There’s no Enterprise plan because we don’t want to spend the next four years writing SAML integrations.

The questions
we actually get.

Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free is permanent — 30 memory entries per type, basic morning brief, full-quality priority engine. Pro is when you want An to remember everything and run on Mac too.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account enters read-only for 30 days — you can review and export your Memory Center. After that 30-day window, everything An stored is deleted from our servers within 24 hours. There is no “archive” we keep just in case.
Can I get a refund?
Within 30 days of any charge, yes — write us. We don’t require a reason and we don’t do an “exit interview.” If you tell us why, we read it; we don’t make refunding contingent on it.
What does the 7-day trial include?
Everything in Pro. No card up front. We email you the day before it ends so you don’t get charged in your sleep. If you do nothing, you fall back to Free — your account stays, your local memories stay, the Mac app just stops syncing.
Will the price ever go up?
Maybe. If it does, anyone who’s already subscribed keeps their current price for as long as their subscription is active and unbroken. We’ll never raise it on you mid-cycle, and we’ll never raise it without writing you a real email about why.
Education / non-profit / regional pricing?
Not as separate tiers, but we waive Pro case-by-case for students, non-profits, and regional affordability. Email us with a couple sentences about your situation. We approve almost everything that isn’t obviously abuse.
Family or shared subscription?
Not yet. An is built around remembering one person; sharing one subscription would mean one Memory Center across two lives, and that’s a worse product, not a better one. If you want An for someone you live with, gift them Pro — it’s exactly the same plan.
Can I pay through the App Store?
Yes — at the same price. Apple takes a cut, we eat it. We don’t pass that on to App Store payers. (Yes, this is genuinely worse for us than web checkout.)
